Most recently, the IsDB has adopted the Women’s Empowerment Policy. The goal of the policy is to contribute to sustainable and inclusive development in the Islamic Development Banks member countries and Muslim communities in non-member countries by empowering women and girls to participate in and benefit from the development of their societies and communities.
On April 30th, 2019, the Governor of Jakarta held a coffee meeting for Development Partners. The meeting aimed to explore and identify future potential collaborations in order to accelerate the development of Jakarta.

Floods and droughts, pollution and water conflicts combined with a growing demand for food and energy, rapid urbanisation, migration pressures, and climate change are potentially catastrophic. Yet, the connecting and interdependent strength of water provides us with an opportunity that cannot be ignored.
On April 25th, 2019, the IsDB RHI team mounted a supervision mission to Nganjuk, Indonesia to visit IsDB financed transformers and to follow-up on the project progress. The mission aimed at obtaining necessary details regarding the project status, challenges, and ways to expedite the Project Implementation.
Over 100 students from The State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga visited the IsDB RHI on April 24th, 2019. The purpose of the visit was for the students to gain first hand knowledge regarding the IsDB organization and its role in the region and in Indonesia
On April 23rd, 2019, the Start-Up Workshop Development of Trans South-South Java Project took place. The workshop was attended by all stakeholders of the project including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Works and Housing, consultants and contractors, as well as representatives from IsDB RHI
The expanding support among world leaders for providing quality education to children in the world’s poorest countries received a major boost today as the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) agreed to a multi-pronged collaboration that will broaden and deepen GPE’s engagement with new partners.
On 11 April 2019, The Ministry of Public Works and housing have signed consultancy contracts for PMC and PSC I with the office of the Directorate General of Housing, Ministry of Public Works in Jakarta, Indonesia to develop the construction of the Trans south-South Java Road Project in Indonesia.
