IsDB Group Chairman Calls on ACG and Partner Financial Institutions for Bold and Innovative Actions to Confront Climate Shocks, Fragility, and Development Financing Gap

Sevilla, Spain 30 June 2025 – Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Chairman, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, has made a clarion call to leaders of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG) and Heads of Partner Financing Institutions to explore innovative mechanisms that will result in bold, coordinated and forward-looking actions.

Speaking during a High-Level Roundtable of Arab Coordination Group Heads of Institutions and Partner Financing Institutions at the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in Spain, Dr. Al Jasser emphasized the urgent need for actions.

He stated that the world is currently experiencing serious, escalating climate shocks, rising debt vulnerabilities, persistent fragility, and an ever-widening development financing gap, and it was time for bold, coordinated, and forward-looking action to address these issues.

Dr. Al Jasser described the gathering as a significant moment commemorating the historic milestone of the 50th Anniversary of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG). He highlighted that over the five decades, the ACG has stood as a beacon of solidarity, unity, and innovation in development financing—delivering impactful, transformative solutions across more than 160 countries.

Dr Al Jasser reaffirmed the IsDB Group’s unwavering commitment to innovation, inclusive and strategic partnerships with the ACG. He assured the audience that the Bank is proud to stand with the ACG partners in advancing a shared vision: one rooted in resilience, equity, and sustainable prosperity, and is fully dedicated to delivering tangible impact-particularly in the most vulnerable and fragile situations.
