The Independent Evaluation Department (IEvD) Successfully Completes 2025 IPDET Training for IsDBG Group Staff
Jeddah, 20 November 2025 — The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group concluded its 2025 cohort of the International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET), held from 16 to 20 November in Jeddah. Convened annually by the Independent Evaluation Department (IEvD) in partnership with the Country Programs Directorate, this intensive, week-long program brought together 25 participants from IsDB Headquarters and various field offices, strengthening the Bank’s commitment to advancing evaluation capacity and promoting a culture of learning across its operations.
Over five training modules, participants built a strong foundation in evaluation principals, ethics, and context; analyzed interventions using results frameworks, assumptions and theories of change; learned to plan evaluations systematically from scoping to drafting terms of reference; strengthened practical skills in evaluation design, data collection, and analysis; and enhanced their ability to communicate findings and promote evaluation use.
At the conclusion of the training, participants were awarded IPDET certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the program. Delivering closing remarks and presenting the certificates, Br. Anasse Aissami, DG of Country Programs, emphasized the strategic importance of building robust evaluation capabilities across the Bank. He noted that in today's rapidly evolving development landscape, strong evaluation capacity is indispensable for development professionals, ensuring interventions remain relevant, evidence-driven, and responsive to the needs of member countries, thereby enhancing the impact and accountability of the Bank's work.
The successful hosting of IPDET reflects IsDB’s ongoing efforts to foster a learning culture, enhance institutional effectiveness, and support the continuous professional development of its staff.
