Young Entrepreneurs from Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Palestine, and Syria Win BINA's Entrepreneurship Competition

Young entrepreneurs from Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Palestine, and Syria attended in an Entrepreneurship Competition organized by BINA, an international development program that aims to help fragile states overcome challenges that they face, most importantly rebuild their human capacity and institutions on important foundations namely; professionalism, efficiency, transparency and good governance.

Istanbul, Turkey, 02 March 2020 – Young entrepreneurs from Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Palestine, and Syria attended in an Entrepreneurship Competition organized by BINA, an international development program that aims to help fragile states overcome challenges that they face, most importantly rebuild their human capacity and institutions on important foundations namely; professionalism, efficiency, transparency and good governance.

After a 100-day marathon of incubation and mentorship conducted by the BINA Incubator, the top 10 projects competed at the presence of a host of delegations including those from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and Istanbul Yildiz University’s Teknopark as well as a number of high profile investors and businessmen. The event eventually saw the first 3 top title winners get the first top 3 prizes while the next 5 winners received a total seed loan of TRY 30,000 from the SEED Association.

BINA Program Director, Dr. Mr. Mustafa El Sagezli, praised the incubator's role in attracting and scouting talents and expertise within a professional ecosystem and working to provide the necessary services and expertise to all entrepreneurs.

Representing the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Regional Hub Turkey, Selcuk Dağ, underlined the importance of innovation, start-ups, and the spirit of entrepreneurship for the economic well-being and socio-economic development of the IsDB Member countries. He also touched upon the crucial role that start-ups play in the socio-economic development of the countries by contributing to creating more employment, enhancing economic dynamism, stimulating innovation and injecting competition in IsDB Member Countries. 

BINA is a joint development initiative by the Libyan Program for Reintegration and Development (LPRD), IsDB, and SESRIC.
