With the aim of supporting Indonesia’s economic & social infrastructure development agenda through leveraging the potential of Public Private Partnership (PPP), a mission was undertaken by a Senior PPP Specialist from ISDB HQ and the PPP Consultant RHI during 8-12 July 2019. 

 The mission held specific meetings with Ministries of Finance, BAPPENAS, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and Minister of Higher Education.  Discussions were also conducted with the National Procurement Agency (LKPP), the Indonesia Infrastructure Guarantee Fund (IIGF), and the Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF). In addition to this, the IsDB team interacted with MDBs such as IFC, JICA as well as banks and consulting firms such as Ernst & Young, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte.  

 During these meetings, the IsDB team expressed its interest in, among others, understanding the existing capacity constraints and challenges in developing the PPP market, while seeking to identify PPP opportunities where IsDB can assist. 

 The mission is seen as an important step to examine the current capacity of Indonesia’s public agencies in PPPs and identify the specific needs of relevant government institutions whereby IsDB can contribute through its expertise, experience and resource mobilization.
