Mr. Ibrahim Shoukry, Head of the Regional Hub Indonesia (RHI) and team paid a courtesy visit to the newly assigned Deputy Minister of Development Funding, Mr. Leonard Tampubolon, of the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) on Thursday, 13 June 2019. The Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Director of Multilateral Foreign Funding, Ms. Siliwanti and team.

After congratulating the Deputy Minister on his appointment, the RHI delegation commended the strong relationship between BAPPENAS and the IsDB that has existed from the start of operations, and which has been further enhanced through IsDB’s country presence since 2015. RHI also recounted the new strategic direction and business model advocated by the IsDB President’s Five-Year Program (P5P), especially in Global Value Chains and innovative resource mobilization. The decentralization model and the expected efficiency gains through the enhanced Delegation of Authority accorded to the regional hubs was also brought to the attention of the Deputy Minister.

While acknowledging the valuable support that the Bank has provided to the development efforts of the Government of Indonesia, the Deputy Minister gave assurance that the strong relationship and partnership will continue to grow. He also stated that there should be more discussions to plan the support for the new National Medium-Term Development Plan, or RPJMN (2020-2024), as well as the new MCPS.
