IsDB President Attends Launching of Member Country Partnership Strategy for Indonesia
Jakarta, Indonesia, 19 July 2022 - Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) President and Group Chairman, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, says the Bank’s interventions in Indonesia in the next 4 years will be driven by two key pillars, notably supporting Green, Resilient and Sustainable infrastructure on one hand and promoting Inclusive Human Capital, on the other.
Dr. Al Jasser made the remarks in Jakarta, 19 July 2022, on the occasion of launching the new Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS) document for Indonesia which will cover the period 2022-2025 under the theme of “Supporting Economic Transformation & Inclusive Human Capital Development for Indonesians”.
The high profile launching ceremony was also attended by H.E. Dr. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Finance and IsDB Governor for Indonesia, who lauded the alignment of IsDB’s MCPs document with the country’s own development goals and priorities. “The most important point is translating these alignments at a higher level into a more detailed level including project design, financing as well as designing and collaborating with other sources of funding,” the Minister stated.
In his keynote speech at the event, the IsDB President stated: “The four cross-cutting areas that support the two pillars are Islamic Finance, Climate Change, Women and Youth, and Capacity Development. In parallel, the 2022-2025 MCPS for Indonesia will channel IsDB’s Strategic Realignment’s Implementation by way of four guiding principles: (i) to be responsive; (ii) to be results driven; (iii) to ensure empowering of our regional presence; and (iv) for IsDB Group - comprising the six entities - to work as a single unit under the “One Group - One Goal” approach aimed at offering complementarity and holistic services, in full harmony with the National Plans and Priorities of the Republic of Indonesia as encapsulated in its 2020-2024 Medium Term Strategy (RPJMN) and Vision 2045.”
According to IsDB Group Chairman, one of the main outstanding features of this MCPS is that it will strive to offer innovative Programmatic and Solution Centric tools to Indonesia and capitalize on the entire IsDB Group’s Synergy in full consonance with the institutionally espoused “One Group - One Goal” corporate motto.
Praising the exemplary bilateral coordination, efforts and perseverance, the IsDB President noted that the 2022-2025 MCPS exercise has resulted in the development of a comprehensive document that will undeniably lay a robust foundation of the Group’s future policy and strategy dialogue with the Republic of Indonesia in a customized and client-centric manner.
Furthermore, Dr. Al Jasser extended his thanks to all line ministries, agencies and key stakeholders, who constructively contributed to the effort. “I would like to applaud Indonesia’s Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) and Ministry of Finance (IsDB Governor’s Office) for facilitating, guiding and validating the new MCPS Document throughout various stages of formulation and finalization, ensuring its cohesiveness and inclusivity, as is evidenced by the unmatched degree of the public, quasi-public and private sector involvement in this complex strategy exercise”, he elaborated.
The IsDB President summed up his remarks by reiterating IsDB Group’s commitment to help Indonesia bring about meaningful economic transformation that will culminate into a thriving, sustainable, diverse, and inclusive economy.
