IsDB Confirms Its Commitment to Support Indonesia in Attaining SDGs
The Ministry of Finance, Indonesia launched the SDG Indonesia One (SDG-IO), a platform for infrastructure development financing focusing on supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Friday, 5 October 2016. H.E. Dr. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, the Minister of Finance Indonesia, officiated the platform in an event attended by representatives from government ministries and agencies, multilateral and bilateral development agencies, embassies and the media.
In the launching event, the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) signed a Letter of Intent with PT SMI, witnessed by H.E. the Minister of Finance. The Letter of Intent shows IsDB’s in-principle interest to support the SDG-IO platform as a framework to support the infrastructure financing with PT SMI. This Letter of Intent is aligned with the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in April 2017 between the IsDB and PT SMI whereas IsDB showed interest to support a potential pipeline of up to USD 500 million. The IsDB support may be in the form of providing finance/investment, project facilities and/or insurance and reinsurance coverage.
