IsDB Committed to Support Member Countries in Attaining Sustainable Economy

H.E. Dr. Bandar Hajjar, the President of Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), officially inaugurated the IsDB Group 43rd Annual Meeting in an opening ceremony held on 4 April 2018 in Tunis, Tunisia.

H.E. Dr. Bandar Hajjar, the President of Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), officially inaugurated the IsDB Group 43rd Annual Meeting in an opening ceremony held on 4 April 2018 in Tunis, Tunisia. H.E. the President said in his remarks, “The investments needed to finance infrastructure and SDG-related projects in member countries exceed the capacity of IsDB and the countries combined. They require partnerships with institutions that have medium and long-term funds, with MDBs, and with global capital markets.” The modern global approach that ensures the provision of funds, expedites project implementation, moves static funds, ensures proper utilization of money, and strengthens national solidarity in line with modern and flexible systems and laws that allow the flow of funds, added H.E. the President. “IsDB emphasizes its commitment to help member countries bring about economic transformation aimed at building a sustainable, diverse and inclusive economy with its own resources and those of the global market,” concluded H.E. Dr. Bandar Hajjar.

The Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group held its 43rd annual meeting to discuss development issues and institutional matters in Tunis, Tunisia on 1-5 April 2018. Approximately 3,000 participants attended the IsDB Group 43rd Annual Meeting, making the event an ideal platform for decision-makers to discuss challenges and explore opportunities facing IsDB Group member countries.

The sessions in the IsDB Group 43rd Annual Meeting tackled issues on partnerships for sustainable development to stimulate the development of human capital, innovation and digital transformation.
