ASEAN Secretariat Briefing on Establishment of the Initial ASEAN Priority Infrastructure Project Pipeline
On June 10th, 2019, the ASEAN Secretariat held a Briefing on Establishment of the Initial ASEAN Priority Infrastructure Project Pipeline. With the support of the World Bank, the ASEAN selected 19 projects out of proposed 42 projects that aim to enhance infrastructure connectivity between ASEAN Member States. The initial pipeline include projects that are in advance stage and/or have economic case. These projects are to address the ASEAN region’s infrastructure requirements and make infrastructure more attractive to investors. The briefing was mainly aimed at discussing potential cooperation and support in moving forward with ASEAN Member States, Dialogue and Development Partners.
IsDB was represented by the Head of RHI who shared IsDB’s mandate and potential support to ASEAN especially for Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei with regards to capacity development, South-South Cooperation, Risk Mitigation options by ICIEC and financing options for the region through Sovereign Lending and the PPP schemes.
The briefing was attended by Ambassadors of ASEAN Member Countries as well as Non Member Countries and other Multilateral Development Bank representatives. The official pipeline will be launched on the sideline of the ASEAN Summit in Bangkok on 31 October - 04 November 2019.
