Islamic Development Bank Hosts Member Country Partnership Strategy Workshop in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 18 October 2024 – The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has successfully conducted a “Workshop on Mid-term Review of Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS) for the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026” and assessment of the relevant active portfolio.
The workshop, held on 18 October 2024, was attended by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (Governor’s office), Ministry of Economy and Finance and Executing Agencies. The IsDB Group was represented by IsDB delegates from the headquarters in Jeddah and Regional Hub Almaty, as well as ICD, ITFC, ICIEC and IsDBI.
The event focused on aligning national development goals with IsDB's mission to promote sustainable economic growth in member countries.
The Participants engaged in fruitful discussions about current challenges and solutions tailored to the unique needs of the country.
During the meeting, IsDB Group representatives presented the overall assessment of MCPS implementation, lessons drawn and future focus for enhancing cooperation with the Government of Uzbekistan over the remaining period of MCPS to contribute to achievement of the Government’s development strategy.
The IsDB’s MCPS framework is designed to facilitate long-term partnerships and drive impactful development initiatives. Through this workshop, participants explored various themes, including infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, and climate resilience, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in achieving socio-economic growth.
The Tashkent workshop is part of IsDB's broader strategy to strengthen its support for member countries and enhance their capacities to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Bank remains dedicated to empowering nations through financial assistance, knowledge sharing, and fostering innovation.
