KLCoE Participates in AMCC’s 15th Annual General Meeting

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 17 September 2025 – The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) through its Kuala Lumpur Center of Excellence (KLCoE) took part in the 15th Annual General Meeting of the Arab Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCC), held at the Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The gathering brought together senior dignitaries, including the Ambassadors of Arab countries and high-ranking Malaysian officials. Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Dato’ Hairil Yahri Yaacob, the Secretary General of MITI, reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening economic partnerships with Arab countries. He highlighted key areas of collaboration such as the Halal value chain, renewable energy, digital economy, and food security.

Speaking on behalf of Arab countries, His Excellency Dr. Adel Mohammad Ali Ba Hamid, Dean of the Arab Ambassadors (Yemen), underscored the key opportunities between Malasyia and Arab Countries in key sectors such as tourism, Halal Industry, Islamic Finance and sustainable development.

During the event, Mr. Samer Elesawi, Head of KLCoE, delivered a presentation on the IsDB Group, focusing on the role the Bank plays in supporting its Member Countries through capacity building, knowledge transfer, South-South cooperation, and reverse linkage”. Drawing on examples of projects supported by the bank in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, he showcased how IsDB financed projects and programs are fostering jobs, sustainability, and inclusive growth. His presentation concluded with an interactive session, where participants engaged on how the Bank can serve as a catalyst for private sector partnerships and cross-border collaboration. The event closed with a networking session, offering a valuable platform for governments, businesses, and development institutions to explore new opportunities.
