Investigations
The Group Integrity and Ethics Department (GIED) conducts a first level assessment to determine whether the complaint falls within its mandate. If it does, the complaint is registered, and a preliminary examination is conducted to determine whether the allegation is credible, material, and verifiable. If these criteria are met, a comprehensive investigation is conducted to ascertain whether firms and/or individuals have indeed engaged in one or more of the IsDB Group sanctionable practices.
The standard of proof that is used to determine whether a complaint is substantiated is defined as evidence that supports the conclusion that it is more likely than not that the Party engaged in a sanctionable practice.
Complaints outside of the GIED’s jurisdiction are redirected to other functions of the IsDB Group as appropriate.
Allegations of staff misconduct are also investigated by the GIED in an independent, objective, and impartial manner, in accordance with internal policies, rules and guidelines.
