IsDB and KFAED Sign US$1 Million Grant Agreement to Support Technical and Vocational Education in Yemen
Vienna, Austria, 23 June 2026 – The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) have signed a US$1 million grant agreement to support the Technical Education and Vocational Training Institute Project in Turbah, Republic of Yemen.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG) Heads of Institutions Meeting in Vienna, reflecting the two institutions' shared commitment to investing in people and creating better opportunities for Yemen's youth through quality technical and vocational education.
The grant will help strengthen the institute's capacity to provide practical, market-oriented training that equips young women and men with the skills needed to secure employment, build sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to their communities' economic recovery and resilience.
By expanding access to quality technical and vocational education, the project aims to empower young people with the knowledge and skills required to meet evolving labor market needs while supporting Yemen's broader development efforts.
The partnership also highlights the value of collaboration among development finance institutions in addressing urgent development priorities. Through joint investments in education and human capital, the IsDB and KFAED continue to support initiatives that foster opportunity, strengthen resilience, and improve the lives of vulnerable communities across Yemen.
