23.07.2012, Jeddah, KSA – Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group welcomed at the IDB Headquarters on Saturday, HRH Princess Sara Al Feisal, President of the “Generations For Peace”, a leading non-government organization founded by HRH Prince Feisal ibn Al Hussein in Amman, Jordan.
The Princess expressed appreciation over the impressive socio-economic development role and the great efforts undertaken by the Islamic Development Bank Group towards improving the lives of millions of people in IDB member-countries and Muslim communities of non-member countries. She also commended IDB for its role in the Integrated Community Development Program supported by the World Bank. The Princess expressed her commitment to make IDB’s work for bringing peace and development better
known.
Dr. Ali, meanwhile, emphasized IDB Group’s readiness to cooperate with the “Generations for Peace” to help it achieve its goals through implementation of joint programs that are in line with the Group’s objectives.
During a roundtable on “Peace and Development” held on the occasion of her visit to the IDB Group HQ, the Princess explained the programs and objectives of “Generations for Peace” and emphasized the importance of integrating the youth in all development and peace initiatives and operations. A presentation on the socio-economic activities of the IDB Group was made on the occasion.
The “Generations for Peace” is a Non-Government Organization (NGO), which aims to promote sustainable peace through supporting young volunteers and leaders to lead their communities towards a brighter future. Its operations are focused on giving the young leaders necessary practical skills and tools enabling them to assume responsibility and help implement sustainable peace programs.
