Jeddah, KSA, 15.01.2013 – A shipment of Hajj meat from the Saudi Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat, Adahi, managed by the Islamic Development Bank, is scheduled to reach the Syrian refugees in Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon through the National Saudi Campaign for Relief Aid. Another consignment is also being distributed among the needy in Somalia.

The Adahi distribution plan for Hajj season 2012, envisages the distribution of around 993,000 frozen carcasses of sheep amongst the needy in Saudi Arabia and in 24 countries in Asia and Africa via sea and land.

The IDB has been managing and operating the environment-friendly project since it was launched nearly three decades ago by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, President, IDB Group, expressed thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their support to the project which made it possible for millions in different parts of the world to benefit from the project.
