Adahi Promoted in North America
31.05.2011, Jeddah, KSA – As part of its awareness program, the Saudi Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat (Adahi) organized an exhibition to promote Adahi services in North America on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). Other Adahi services offered through the project’s website (www.adahi.com) were also explained to the participants in addition to those rendered during Hajj season every year.
The three-day event of ICNA held in Hartford, Connecticut, USA, was attended by a large number of participants from Muslim institutions, companies and communities.
This is the second time an Adahi delegation is attending similar functions at an international level. Last month, the project was promoted at the Islamic Exhibition for Hajj and Umra held in Jakarta, Indonesia, with the objective of creating awareness among Indonesian Hajj pilgrims and other Muslim nationalities on the advantages of availing Adahi services.
The Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat (Adahi) was launched by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the 1982 pilgrimage, in an effort to facilitate well-structured and environment-friendly services to Hajj pilgrims, with state-of-the-art technology. The management and operations of the project are entrusted to the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the sacrificial meat is distributed among less privileged Muslims in the Kingdom as well as 27 other countries.
A record number of about a million heads of livestock were utilized under Adahi during the last year Hajj season.
