H.E. the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Dr. Mohammad Nasir, witnessed by IsDB Indonesia Human Development Specialist, Deni Ahmad Fauzi representing the Resident Representative, officiated the groundbreaking of construction work at State University of Surabaya, as part of the IsDB-supported 7-in-1 project.

The project, officially entitled "Support to the Development of Higher Education" project, involves seven universities, namely the University of Tanjung Pura in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Lambung Mangkurat University in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, State University of Yogyakarta in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, State University of Surabaya in Surabaya, East Java, Sam Ratulangi University in Manado, North Sulawesi, State University of Gorontalo in Gorontalo and Syah Kuala University in Banda Aceh, Special Region of Aceh.

The project will improve the physical infrastructure of the six universities by constructing new buildings, renovating and supporting the infrastructures such as roads, electricity connectivity, drainage, etc. It also supports the quality and relevance of the Higher Education institutions through activities such as curriculum development, acquisition of equipment, staff development, e-learning including digital libraries, procurement of books/journals and research development.
