On July 25^th, 2019, H.E. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State met with the IsDB Group RHI team to discuss potential areas of cooperation between Sokoto State and the Islamic Development Bank group, within the context of Indonesia. The visit of the Executive Governor was aimed at developing bilateral relations between Sokoto State and the Government of Indonesia. Representatives of IsDB, ITFC, ICIEC and the IsDB PPP specialist from the RHI participated in this meeting.

During this meeting, the Regional Hub informed the delegation that there is potential for collaboration and facilitation through Reverse Linkages and Technical Cooperation in the key areas of higher education and vocational education, particularly on how to strengthen the linkages between the Vocational Training Centers (VTC) and Industry. There are also potential areas for facilitation in improvement of provincial hospitals in the health sector, and community empowerment, as well as Islamic and inclusive financing. The discussions also covered potential trade financing and support activities, and the advisory process currently being explored within Indonesia for infrastructure development.
