The IsDB Group participated in the 6th Indonesia Sharia Economic Forum (ISEF) in Jakarta, Indonesia which took place on 12-14 November 2019. The event was organized by the Bank of Indonesia along with the recently established National Islamic Finance Committee (KNKS). As one of the implementation mechanisms of the Indonesian Sharia Economics Master Plan (MEKSI) 2019-2024, ISEF aims to mainstream Islamic Economy and Finance into National and International policy and promote Indonesia as a center of excellence in the global Islamic economy and finance industries. It was highlighted during the opening sessions that Indonesia is ranked 1st in the 2019 Islamic Finance Country Index, moving up 5 positions from the ranking in 2018.

The participation of the IsDB Group in this forum was aligned with Pillar 2 of the MCPS (2016 - 2020) – Deepen the Islamic Finance Industry, and was intended to share knowledge on a multitude of subjects related to Islamic Finance, including Islamic Structured Finance for Infrastructure Development in IsDB Member Countries, present case studies and build capacity, promote the IsDB group products and services, and discuss various avenues of support to the efforts of provincial governments to mainstream Islamic economy and finance within their regional development efforts.

The IsDB sponsored ten speakers from the IsDB Member Countries to participate in the various sessions, and ICD had a booth in the main exhibition/expo area in order to maximize potential in reaching new potential clients and projects. Furthermore, there was participation from the Regional Hub as one of the key development partners in the KNKS Executive Leaders Forum “Accelerating Regional Economy through Islamic Economy and Finance”. The IsDB also fielded speakers in the “OIC International Conference on Islamic Social Finance”, and the “International Hajj Conference” sessions.
