Jakarta, Indonesia - On 20 October 2022, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group and the Indonesia Infrastructure Guarantee Fund (IIGF) held a joint workshop on the context of Delivering Social Infrastructure through PPP.

The workshop was opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Salah Jelassi, the Resident Representative of the IsDB Regional Hub Indonesia, Mr. Andre Permana, the Director of Business IIGF, and followed by Mr. Mohammed Alsayed Ahmad, the PPP Division Manager, IsDB. 

This workshop aims to exchange information about the experience of the IsDB Group supporting the delivery of social infrastructure through the PPP scheme and the IIGF’s instrumental role in supporting PPP development in Indonesia. It also facilitates partnerships between the stakeholders involved.

In addition, it also aligns with the IsDB Group's Member Country Partnership Strategy for Indonesia 2022-2025, Pillar 2: Enhancing Productivity through Inclusive Human Capital Development and the IsDB’s Strategic Realignment’s 2023-2025 Implementation through the Second Pillar of promoting inclusive human capital development, in which the implementation guided by “One Group- One Goal” approach aimed at offering holistic and complementarity services to MCs.

During his remarks, Mr. Jelassi mentioned that "the social sector is one of the priority sectors of IsDB in Indonesia. The IsDB has financed almost US$ 1 billion to support education projects across 30 universities. In the healthcare sector, within the last two years, the Bank approved two projects, with a total of US$ 462 million in co-financing to strengthen the health services."
