IsDB Encourages Climate Resilient Urban Transport in Member Countries
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and GIZ, supported by the Ministry of National Development Planning Indonesia (BAPPENAS), co-organized a regional training on “Climate Resilient Urban Transport” in Jakarta on 7-8 November 2018. The training aimed to introduce the concept of climate resilience in the transport sector and approaches to assess climate vulnerability of the urban transport system.
The key resource persons included the IsDB Climate Change Division and Economic Infrastructure Division, the Head of Greater Jakarta Transportation Management Agency, GIZ/TUMI Policy Advisor and Transport & Climate Change Advisor, and international experts in urban transport system from Germany and Canada.
The participants were ministerial, provincial government and SOE decision makers and planners in charge of urban transport infrastructure from Malaysia, Bangladesh, Maldives and Indonesia.
