Mr. Hassan Abdelmagid Musa

The HQ Operations for GCC & Yemen (HQ GCY) is a newly established Unit within the Country Programs Directorate, Operations Complex, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). It is based in IsDB HQ in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The HQ GCY covers Seven Member Countries including the six GCC Countries (KSA, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman) and Yemen.

Mr. Hassan was appointed as a Country Operations Manager (COM) for the HQ GCY on 10 March 2021 (26 Rajab 1442H).

Mr. Hassan is a Sudanese National born on 31 January 1963, in Omdurman, Sudan. He holds an MA in Local and Regional Development (LRD) awarded by the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), the Hague, The Netherlands in December 1995; and holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Econometrics and Social Statistics awarded by the Faculty of Economic and Social Studies, the University of Khartoum, Sudan in October 1988. Married and father of two children.

Mr. Hassan joined IsDB on 18 July 2005 as Senior Country Officer at the Country Operations Department-3 (COD-3) covering the Arab States in the MENA Region. He was appointed on July 2009 as Division Manager for the Country Division 6 (CD6) covering 12 Member Countries including the GCC countries & Yemen and the Levant Countries (Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine). Prior to joining IsDB, Mr. Hassan worked at different places based in Sudan, e.g., a Socio-Economic Expert at Maarif for Training and Consultancy Co. Ltd., a Project Officer, and Head for the Projects, Implementation and Monitoring Sections at Sudan Rural Development Company (SRDC) Ltd., a development finance intuition for SMEs, and Part-time Teaching Assistant at the Department of Econometrics and Social Statistics, Faculty of Economic and Social Studies, the University of Khartoum.
