Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 4 March 2024 – An Islamic Development Bank mission led Mr. Ibrahim Shoukry, Head of IsDB Regional Hub Almaty has attended the Roundtable Meeting of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG) in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Round Table Meeting on 4^th March 2024, discussed the list of priority public infrastructure projects submitted by the Government of Uzbekistan for financing by ACG members.

Engineer Hani Sonbol, CEO of the Internation Islamic Trade Finance Corporation, (ITFC) and Acting CEO Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) also attended the Round Table Meeting and contributed to the discussions of the projects.

The event was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan who is also the IsDB Governor for the country.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation with ACG members, that, to date, have invested US$ 1.74 billion in a number of projects in Uzbekistan.

In his keynote opening remarks on behalf of the Arab Coordination Group delegations, the Head of the IsDB Group Regional Hub Almaty, Mr. Ibrahim Shoukry highly appreciated the socio-economic development efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan amid prevailing geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges in the Region.

The IsDB Group and ACG members are determined to enhance their cooperation with Uzbekistan in implementation of its priority projects set by the National Development Strategy Uzbekistan – 2030.
