Within the framework of the Saudi Project for utilizing of Hajj Meat : distributing Hajj Meat in Pakistan and Azerbaijan
Jeddah, 27-02-2011 : A ship arrived at Karachi Port carrying 40,000 frozen carcasses, provided by the Saudi Project for the Utilization of Hajj Meet, to be distributed amongst the poor in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The project, managed by the Jeddah based Islamic Development Bank (IDB), has sent a mission there to oversee the distribution process. A second ship is expected to arrive soon at the port of Poti, the Republic of Georgia, carrying 5000 frozen carcasses to be distributed in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The frozen carcasses will be transported by refrigerated containers from the port of Poti to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The shipment is expected to arrive in Baku on Monday, 7 March, March, 2011. It is worth pointing out that within the framework of The Saudi Project for the Utilization of Hajj Meat, distribution of Hajj meat will continue amongst the poor in Saudi Arabia. The Haram area and all the cities of the kingdom will witness the distribution of 700,000 carcasses through 270 charity associations according to the Distribution Plan approved in 2010 Hajj season. In addition, around 231,000 carcasses will be distributed amongst the poor and needy in 24 countries in Asia and Africa.
