The Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia to Talk on Islamic Finance at the IDB Group Luncheon in Washington
Jeddah, 5.10.2010 : On the occasion of the 2010 Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the IMF, the Islamic Development Bank Group will host the Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia (Bank Negara), Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, during a luncheon to be held on Sunday 10th Oct. 2010, for the Ministers of Finance and Economy, Governors of the Central banks, Heads of the International Institutions, and Ambassadors of member countries based in Washington D.C.
The guest of honor will speak on the topic of “Islamic Finance: An Agenda for Balanced Growth and Development.” Dr. Zeti has been the Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia since May 2000. She is the only women in Asia to be holding the key position to date.
The Islamic development Bank is an international financial institution established in July 1975 to foster economic development and social progress of its (56) member countries and for (77) communities in non-member countries. The Group comprises five entities, the Islamic development Bank, Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC).
