Jeddah, KSA, 13.08.2014 – During a visit to the IDB Headquarters, HE Dr. Ali Ahmed Karti, Foreign Minister of Sudan expressed appreciation and sought further support of the IDB in the socio-economic development of Sudan.

The Minister discussed with IDB Group Chairman Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali the potentials for supporting small projects as well as financing high priority productive projects in the areas of agriculture, industry and mining, and attracting foreign investments.

The IDB Group Chairman expressed readiness of the IDB Group to provide possible support to foster the country’s efforts in the field of foreign and domestic investments, stressing that such projects are an integral part of the Bank’s mission. He praised the Sudanese experience with micro-financing, noting that the Bank will help transfer such knowledge and experience to other member countries.

A high level Sudanese mission is likely to visit the IDB soon to discuss specific projects and initiatives in which the IDB Group might participate.
