The President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, has disclosed that a website has been launched to facilitate the online purchase of Hajj meat coupons of the Saudi Arabia Project for the Utilization of Hajj Meat. Prospective purchasers can buy the coupons either by using credit cards or through money transfers to the National Commercial Bank at: www.adahi.org
He further stated that the new service is part of the Islamic Development Bank’s drive to provide excellent services to Allah’s pilgrims. He indicated that the IDB will inform the pilgrim by email and SMS about his/her ritual as soon as it is performed.
He also said that the new service is the nucleus of a planned fully computerized Hajj meat project. Thus the Bank can build, in the future, a central database that helps to ensure that the Project’s network of slaughterhouses operate optimally throughout the year.
The Hajj meat project was established by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to help pilgrims perform the Hajj Meat ritual with ease; and the Islamic Developed Bank has been assigned to run the Project since its inception in the Hajj season of 1403H.
It is worth noting that the Bank concluded some time this year a contract to supply 700,000 sheep that satisfy the requisite shariah and health standards. This year SR 405.00 has been set as the price for one sheep.
