President Al Jasser Underlines the Role of Data and Knowledge Partnerships in Driving Regional and Global Development

Washington, USA, 25 October 2024 – Addressing a roundtable discussion on partnerships for impact, President of the Islamic Development Bank, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser has underlined the role of data and knowledge partnerships in driving regional and global development

Hosted by Mr. Axel van Trotsenburg, Senior Managing Director, World Bank and held under the theme of “Accelerating Progress by Working Together”, the roundtable was organized in conjunction with the 2024 IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Washington on 25 October.  

During his intervention, Dr. Al Jasser elaborated that in today’s world, data-driven knowledge is increasingly becoming a key asset in creating meaningful impact, especially for resource-constrained developing economies.

Underlining the significance that IsDB Group attaches to embracing data-driven collaborations Dr. Al Jasser enumerated instances of such collaboration with Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative, the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data, and Asian Development Bank all destined to better realize development achievements in its member countries.

The IsDB President told the participants – representing many leading global development players - that at the heart of every meaningful development lies collaboration about knowledge and data sharing as collaborative platforms allow for sharing research findings, best practices, and lessons learned across borders ensuring that all countries benefit from global advances good instances of which were seen during the COVID-19 crisis.
