Post-Crisis Global Economy being Discussed at IDB Reception during World Bank Annual Meeting
Washington DC, 09.10.2013- Post-crisis Global Economy will be the subject of a lecture to be delivered at the IDB Group Reception to be held in honor of the IDB Governors on the sidelines of the World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Washington on Thursday. The OECD Secretary General, Jose Angel Gurria will deliver the lecture.
“The world Bank/IMF Annual meetings provide an opportunity for financial institutions like the Islamic Development Bank to showcase to the world the effort they are making towards eradicating poverty, which is the focus of the WB Annual Meeting this year”, said IDB Group Chairman Dr Ahmad Mohamed Ali.
“I am glad that poverty eradication is one of the core businesses of the IDB Group with the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), its poverty reduction arm dedicated to that cause”. He extended a cordial invitation to the media and others to actively participate in the media roundtable that would be held before the lecture and reception luncheon so that together they could share with the world the effort the IDB Group is making to ensure a poverty-free world.
