Northern Cyprus seeks stronger economic cooperation with IsDB

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 16.04.2017 - The Republic of Northern Cyprus seeks stronger economic cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in the education sector and Awqaaf (endowments) development.

The Foreign Minister of Northern Cyprus, Mr. Tahsin Ertugruloglu stated this during a courtesy call to the President of IsDB, Dr. Bandar Hajjar in Jeddah, IsDB headquarters.

Dr. Bandar Hajjar assured the delegation led by Mr. Ertugruloglu that IsDB will work to ensure economic cooperation with Northern Cyprus through development projects that will be beneficial to the people of Northern Cyprus. He added that the development of Awqaaf is an important area that IsDB is working on, and he looks forward to more collaboration in that regard.

In his remarks, the Foreign Minister of Northern Cyprus, Mr. Tahsin Ertugruloglu stated that his country has a healthy relationship with IsDB, and the Bank has executed several development projects in the area of education. He expressed his sincere appreciation to IsDB for its support.

He added that one of the key projects approved by IsDB is the Uzaif Special education project, and more collaboration is expected in this area. The Northern Cyprus Foreign Minister stated that cooperation between IsDB and his country would be for the mutual benefit of both parties.
