Media Advisory – IsDB President to Visit Republic of Indonesia
President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, and his delegation will make an official visit to Jakarta, the Republic of Indonesia, on 24-28 March 2022.
During his official visit, the IsDB Group President will undertake several bilateral meetings with the high-level officials from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia as well key stakeholders and other development partners in the country.
The President will also take the opportunity to visit various IsDB Group funded projects in the country in key sectors such as energy, health, education/vocational training amongst others.
The visit by Dr. Al Jasser and his delegation reaffirms IsDB Group’s long-standing commitment and desire to support the concerted efforts of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in ensuring inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth, rapid post COVID-19 recovery and prosperous future for its people.
IsDB Group and Indonesia Relations
The Republic of Indonesia joined the IsDB on August 12, 1974 (as one of its founding members). Indonesia’s capital subscription to IsDB is ID1,138 million (2.25% of total IsDB subscribed capital), of which the paid-up capital is ID 148.2 million. Indonesia is also a member of the IsDB Group Entities (ICIEC, ICD, ITFC and IsDBI).
To date, the IsDB Group has approved total financing of about US$ 6 billion (second largest Beneficiary) for 331 operations for Indonesia in key sectors such as energy, agriculture, health, education, transport, industry & mining, water and sanitation among others.
The Regional Hub in Indonesia, plays a critical role of enhancing cooperation of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Indonesia and Brunei.
