Mali Commends IDB’s Assistance at Times of Difficulty
30.09.2013, Jeddah, KSA – At a meeting, in September, between the Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the high-ranking authorities of the Government of Mali on the occasion of the investiture ceremony of the newly elected President, HE Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, the officials commended the unique relationship and excellent cooperation of the IDB Group with Mali. They praised the solidarity of the IDB Group at difficult times through the assistance provided to the people of
Mali, especially the prompt response at the International Donors meeting held on 15 May 2013 in Brussels, Belgium, where the IDB Group pledged US$ 250 million for the reconstruction program.
Mr. Birama Boubacar Sidibe, Vice President (Operations) represented the IDB on the occasion of the investiture ceremony and congratulated the newly elected President on behalf of the IDB Group Chairman. He also met and discussed matters of mutual interest with the Prime Minister H.E. Oumar Tatam Ly; the Minister of Economy and Finance, H.E. Madame Bouaré Fily Sissoko, the Minister of Rural Development, H.E. Dr. Bocary Tereta; the Minister of Energy and Water, H.E. M. Frankaly Keïta; the Minister
of Housing, H.E. M. Mohamed Diarra; and the Minister of Equipment and Transport, H.E. Abdoulaye Koumaré.
