Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 16 February 2023 - Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) President, HE Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, will lead a high-powered delegation of the IsDB to attend the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 18-19 February 2023.

The IsDB President said the mission is an excellent opportunity to engage with the leadership of the African continent to strengthen existing partnerships in supporting the IsDB member countries, who are also member states of the African Union. ‘’The IsDB remains deeply committed to supporting the economic development and social progress of its 27 African member countries,’’ Dr. Al Jasser stated. 

The IsDB President and his entourage will observe the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Head of States and Governments, hold strategic partnership meetings, and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the leadership of the AU Commission. The IsDB Chief is also expected to meet with the Ethiopian Prime Minister and high-level authorities of Ethiopian government. 

Dr. Al Jasser has previously served as an Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Saudi Council of Ministers, as Minister of Economy and Planning and as Governor and Board Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), the Saudi Central Bank, among many other eminent positions.
