Jeddah, 16.5.2011 –At a virtual launching ceremony, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, President, IDB Group and Professor Dato Dr Jamil Bin Osman, Rector of the Insania University, Malaysia,jointly launched the Islamic Development Bank's Master's program in Islamic Finance through E-learning. The E-learning program which will be managed by the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank, is the fruit of collaboration in this field with Malaysia's Insania University.The syllabus of the Master's Program jointly developed by IRTI and the University is approved by the Malaysian Ministry of higher Education.
In their joint statement, the President, IDB Group and the Rector of the Insania University underlined the existing cooperation between the two institutions in the field of Islamic banking and finance and stressed the importance of the program in producing sufficient talents in this field. In his welcome address the IDB Group President also elaborated the efforts of IRTI in promoting Islamic finance and banking on a global level.
