IsDB Vice President engages the Gabonese leadership to strengthen bilateral cooperation and renew IsDB's commitment to the central African nation

Libreville, Gabon, 27 February 2023 – Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Vice President-Operation, H.E. Dr. Mansur Muhtar, has met with the Gabonese Minister of Economy and Recovery, H.E Nicole Jeanine Lydie Roboty Epouse Mbou, and other senior government officials to strengthen bilateral cooperation, explore opportunities and renew IsDB's commitment to supporting development projects in the central African nation.

Vice President Muhtar is on a two-day operational mission to the country to assess IsDB's projects following the devasting impacts of Covid-19 on development structures in many IsDB member countries. He explained to the Gabonese authorities that the IsDB was fully prepared to explore new development opportunities to enhance the socio-economic recovery of the country and assist vulnerable communities in the central African nation. "The IsDB Plans to strategically partner with the government to scale up ongoing bilateral cooperation in line with the Realigned IsDB Strategy 2023-2025 that pursues its member countries' needs and aspirations to overcome the persisting global challenges in the post-pandemic era", the VP stressed.

H.E Nicole Jeanine Lydie Roboty Epouse Mbou acclaimed the intervention of the IsDB in the country. She said she was pleased with the Vice President's visit and looked forward to a solid partnership to speed up the country's economic recovery process.

In attendance at the high-level partnership engagement were Toussaint NKOUMA EMANE, Minister of Public Works, Equipment and Infrastructure, Mr. Severin Oswald MAYOUNOU - Minister of Energy and Hydraulic Resources, Mrs. Nicole jeanine Lydie ROBOTY ép. MBOU – Minister of Economy and Recovery, Mr. Hugues MBADINGA MADIYA, Minister for the Promotion of Investments, Public-Private Partnerships, Responsible for Improving the Business Environment, and Mrs. Edith EKIRI MOUNOMBI ép. OYOUOMI – Minister of Budget and Public Accounts.
