Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, 7 June 2024 – In a distinguished ceremony held in Bishkek, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mr. Sadyr Japarov, awarded the prestigious Order of Friendship to H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, President and Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group.

This esteemed honor recognizes Dr. Al Jasser's remarkable contributions to fostering peace, goodwill, and cooperation between the IsDB Group and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Order of Friendship, one of the highest accolades conferred by the Kyrgyz Republic, celebrates individuals who have significantly advanced the principles of friendship and collaboration between nations. Dr. Al Jasser's leadership at the IsDB Group has been instrumental in strengthening the ties between the IsDB and the Kyrgyz Republic, promoting sustainable development, economic cooperation, and mutual understanding.

The Kyrgyz Republic joined IsDB in November 1993, marking the beginning of a fruitful partnership. Since then, the IsDB Group has approved total financing of approximately US$558.8 million for 80 projects in the country.

Over the years, the IsDB Group has initiated and supported numerous projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, focusing on key areas such as infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and social services. These efforts have greatly contributed to the socio-economic advancement of the Kyrgyz Republic and reinforced the enduring partnerships that are benefiting the Kyrgyz people.

In his speech at the ceremony, Dr. Al Jasser expressed his profound gratitude to President Japarov and the people of Kyrgyzstan for this significant honor.
