IsDB pledges massive support for Cote d’Ivoires comprehensive development plan
<b>President Ouattara supports IsDB decentralisation effort </b><br>
<b>Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire 11.07.17</b> - The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has pledged massive support towards the implementation of Cote d’Ivoires national development plan. The pledge was made by IsDB President, Dr. Bandar Hajjar, during bilateral talks with the President of Cote D’Ivoire, Mr. Alassane Ouattara, on the sidelines of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Abidjan. <br>
Dr. Hajjar stated that IsDB will bring along its private sector entities, and other development partners in order to have a comprehensive look at the development plan for effective intervention.<br>
The IsDB President stated that his focus is to accelerate the process of project implementation by being closer to the clients. He told president Ouattara that IsDB will do its best to support the establishment of five new universities in Cote D’Ivoire by the year 2020, promote the development of Waqf (endownment) and help the country in establishing Islamic banks. <br>
In his remarks, President Ouattara of Cote D’Ivoire expressed his satisfaction with the plan by IsDB to decentralise its operations. He added that Cote D’Ivoire is ready to benefit from the experience of IsDB in using Public Private Partnership (PPP) in health, education, infrastructure and agriculture. <br>
Earlier, the IsDB President, Dr. Bandar Hajjar held talks with the Prime Minister of Cote D’Ivoire, Mr. Amadou Gon Coulibaly. During the discussion, Dr. Hajjar and Prime Minister Coulibali agreed to set up a technical committee that will study the project proposals of Cote D’Ivoire in order to move forward.<br>
On the sidelines of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, IsDB organised an exhbition which was commissioned by President Alassane Ouattara of Cote D’Ivoire.<br>
