IsDB Group’s Participation in the 6th Annual Coordination Meeting of the OIC Institutions (ACMOI)

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 15 December 2022 –The Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), represented by Br. Amer Bukvic, Acting Director-General, Global Practice and Partnerships as well as representatives from the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) participated in the 6th Annual Coordination Meeting of the OIC Institutions (ACMOI) which took place at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) headquarters in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on December 15, 2022.

The 6th ACMOI was held after a 3-year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha emphasized the need to enhance coordination in the elaboration of a successor program to the OIC 2015 - 2025 Program of Action for the decade 2026 - 2035.

Br. Amer Bukvic delivered the statement on behalf of the IsDB Group and spoke about the immense importance the IsDB Group attaches to its relations and cooperation with the members of the OIC family.

The statement updated the participating institutions on  the Strategic Preparedness and Response Program (SPRP) and its achievements as well as the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund (AHTF), Food Security Response Program (FSRP) and the climate action financing package.

As proposed by H.E. the President of the IsDB Group, Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, considering the new realities and priorities of the two institutions and the changes in our member countries’ development landscape over the last 12 years, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation and Coordination Framework signed between the OIC General Secretariat and IsDB Group in 2010 will be revisited. The new MoU will help for better coordination of our efforts and streamlining the areas of mutual interest. 

Br. Amer concluded by stating that the IsDB Group believes that reinforcing its cooperation and collaborative work with the OIC General Secretariat, OIC institutions and the Standing Committees including Al Quds Committee, COMCEC, COMSTECH and COMIAC is a good platform for the partnership to serve the member countries.
