IsDB Group Chairman and Indonesia’s Health Minister Review Healthcare Partnership

Jakarta, Indonesia, 8 October 2026 – H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, met today with H.E. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, to review cooperation aimed at strengthening health services across the country.

IsDB’s support for Indonesia’s health sector spans maternal and child health facilities, oncology services, and the national healthcare referral network. During his 2024 visit, Dr. Al Jasser joined the Minister in inaugurating new maternal and child health facilities at Dharmais Cancer Hospital and Persahabatan Hospital.

The two sides discussed the Strengthening Indonesia’s Healthcare Referral Network (SIHREN) project, for which IsDB approved €803.3 million in financing. The project aims to strengthen referral services and expand access to advanced medical technology.

The discussion also covered the steps required to advance from procurement to site readiness, equipment delivery, and operationalization.

They also reviewed preparations for the proposed Teaching Hospital Transformation for Advanced Medical Specialist (TITANS) project.

The proposed project would strengthen specialist medical education and services through four major teaching hospitals. It remains subject to the completion of government procedures and financing negotiations, as well as IsDB approval.

Dr. Al Jasser reiterated IsDB Group’s commitment to working with the Ministry to translate health investments into accessible, high-quality services for people across the country.
