Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 15 August 2023- Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Vice President Operation, Dr. Mansur Muhtar held a bilateral meeting with AMB Isiaka Abdulqadir, the Secretary-General of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation. The meeting aimed at enhancing partnerships and scaling up cooperation between the two development institutions.

Briefing his guest on the IsDB's strategic objectives for the period of 2023–2025, which include boosting recovery, tackling poverty and building resilience, and driving green economic growth, VP Mansur reiterated the Bank’s commitment to promoting economic and social development in the states of common membership based on the MoU signed between the two institutions in 2017. He highlighted the interest in developing a Joint Action Plan, naming relevant focal points on both sides, and reviewing the progress regularly.

Dr. Mansur expressed IsDB's readiness to work with D-8 on all related activities under the IsDB’s Strategic Realignment 2023–25. “We look forward to enhancing avenues of collaboration with D-8 for the benefit of our member countries”, he stated.
