IsDB Conducts Capacity Building Training on Public Private Partnerships (PPPs)

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 14 October 2021 – Islamic Development Bank (IsDB)’s Public Private Partnership Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPPIAF) under the Economic and Social Infrastructure Department (ESID) held a 3-day virtual “PPP Capacity Building Training” between 12-14 October 2021 in cooperation with IsDB Regional Hubs in Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Egypt. 

In total, 31 participants  from Albania, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Sudan, and Uzbekistan attended the training. In addition to these member countries, colleagues from the mentioned hubs, PPP Division, ESID and the Legal Department also joined the training.

The program aimed to build and/or enhance capacity of PPP centers and the relevant ministries in various fields such as energy, health, and transport with respect to project selection and preparation as well as financial and legal structures of PPPs. 

The training enabled the participants not only to explore PPP cases from various countries but also to raise issues they face during procurement of PPP projects from end-to-end.
