IDB Signs MoU with Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation
Jeddah, KSA, 30.03.2014 – The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group and Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate the exchange of expertise between Morocco and other IDB member countries.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, Chairman, IDB Group, and Dr. Abderrahim Al Kadmiri, Director General, AMCI.
According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate to support IDB member countries in the fields of agriculture and irrigation, supplying drinking water, rural electrification, developing education and health, poverty reduction, affordable housing programs, and development of frameworks for cooperation with the private sector in the fields of industry and mining.
Established in 1986, AMCI represents a versatile implementation tool of cooperation outlined by the Moroccan government within the framework of South-South cooperation. It places human element as a main focus of its development strategy.
