Jeddah, KSA-22.06.2013- The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali has described the youths as the solution rather than the challenge of our time. President Ali was speaking at the Brunei Islamic Investment Summit (BIIS) 2013 as part of the IDB day organized by the country. President Ali stated that because of the importance of youth development, IDB had been organizing IDB Youth Forum during its Annual Meetings for the past two years.

The Summit which took place at the Empire Hotel and Country in Jerudong had in attendance the Crown Prince of Brunei, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Speaking on the importance of the Brunei Islamic Investment Summit, President Ali mentioned that “it is a timely and strategic forum, as Asia is now the new engine for global growth.

This forum can be an important bridge between investors of other regions such as GCC countries to invest in Asia”. “IDB Group stands ready to support and cooperate with Brunei Darussalam in such important initiatives. Already Brunei Darussalam has attained the highest standards in health and education among the developing countries and is on track to realize Brunei Darussalam Vision 2035”, President Ahmad Mohamed Ali added. The President whose presentation focused on “Tapping and Expanding the Global Investment Opportunity in Asia’s Market” stressed the importance of ethical financing according to Islamic principles, adding that Islamic finance must be tied to the real economy.

The two day summit was hosted by Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam and Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) in collaboration with Centre for Research and Training (CERT) Malaysia.
