Jeddah- 21-03-2011, The IDB Group President Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, extended today an invitation to the business communities from IDB member countries to participate in the Sarajevo Business Forum 2011, to be held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 6 - 8 April 2011 under the auspices of His Excellency Mr. Bakr Ezzat begovich, the member of Bosnia’s Collective Presidency.
Speaking on the sidelines of Jeddah Economic Forum, the President of the IDB pointed out during a joint press conference with Sheikh Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dr. Adel Bushnaq, Chairman of Bushnaq Group, that the Sarajevo Business Forum 2011 will provide investors with adequate information on investments in Sarajevo and South East European countries including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Macedonia. The Forum will mainly focus on infrastructure sectors, energy, agriculture, tourism, financial industry and educational services.
It is worth pointing out that encouraging investment and developing private sector to stimulate economic growth in member countries and Muslim communities in non- member countries reflect one of the main thrusts of the IDB Group Vision 2020. The Bank’s Group within its specialized vehicles i.e., the Islamic Corporation for the Development of Private Sector (ICD), the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) provide s integrated services in the areas of finance, insurance of investment, encouragement of Export, and technical and advisory assistance to uphold the role of the private sector in achieving socioeconomic development in member countries.
