IDB Group Co-organizes Investment Conference in Morocco, under G8 Deauville Partnership

27.02.2014, Jeddah, KSA - Within the framework of the G8 Deauville Partnership, the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group is organizing an international investment conference in Morocco on March 5, 2014, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Affairs and Governance, the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments (AMDI) and other government entities.

The Conference, to be held in Skhirate, will be attended by several Moroccan ministers, representatives of the G8 Presidency, international financial institutions, members of the G8 Deauville Partnership, business leaders, and heads of federations and chambers of commerce, as well as G8 and Gulf countries’ investment firms.

The IDB Group, as a founding member of the international financial institutions’ Deauville Partnership Coordination Platform, is exerting considerable efforts to assist Arab countries in transition including Morocco, towards building an enabling investment environment to facilitate foreign direct investment, generating confidence in local and foreign investors as well as paving the way for better market accessibility.

It is expected that utilizing the available investment opportunities along with the expected investment inflow will support economic and social development and create more job opportunities, particularly for the youth. Along with the G8 countries, regional partners from the IDB Group member countries, namely Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E. and Turkey, and eleven international financial institutions, in addition to OECD will participate in the conference.
