IDB Board of Executive Directors Holds its 248th Meeting in Djibouti, Approves Finances for More Than US$ 357 Million

The Board was informed on the operations approved by the IDB President between the previous and present sessions, involving 5 trade operations in favor of member countries and one technical assistance operation for Suriname.

The Board also approved US$ 25 million for the International Fund for Energy Project, US$ 25 million for Communication, Information and Technology Fund, and US$ 20 million for participation in the equity of FORAS Investment Company.

Details of project financing and trade operations approved by the Board are as follows:

DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS :

 US$ 8.5 million Loan Financing for the Djibouti Urban Poverty Reduction Program (DUPREP) Djibouti.
 US$ 7.5 million Loan Financing for the Djibouti-Loyada Road Project , Djibouti.
 US$ 290,000 T.A. Financing for the Water Dams Project, Djibouti.
 US$ 34.44 million Installment Sale for Upgrading of University of Science, Malaysia (USM) Malaysia.
 US$ 50 million for Extension of Line of Financing to Kazkommertsbank in Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan.
 US$ 10.8 million Loan/T.A. Grant for the Higher Education Support Project, Chad.
 US$ 63.5 million Istisna’a Financing for the Construction of Singrobo-Yamoussokourou Highway Project-(Phase-3),Cote d’Ivoire.
 US$ 3.9 million Additional Loan Financing for the Nouakchott Power Plant Expansion Project ,Mauritania.
 US$ 460.000 TA Grant for Health Sector in Comoros, Comoros

 US$ US$ 150,000 for the Expansion of English Medium Secondary School Building and a Hostel in Al-Hamra Public School at Palsa Town Birbhum District, West Bengal State, India.
 US$ 290,000 for the Construction of Phase-I of Abba Jifar School, Jimma Town, Oromiya Region, Ethiopia.
 US$ 500,000 for the Construction of an Islamic School in Grozny, Republic of Chechnya, Russian Federation.
 US$ 365,000 for the Construction of Annoor Academy, Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.
