ICD and Malaysia View Cooperation for Mobilization of Hajj Resources
Jeddah, KSA, 23.06.2014 – “Mobilizing Savings and Effective Hajj Management – Malaysia Experience” was the title of a forum held in Jeddah’s Hilton Hotel on Monday in conjunction with the IDB’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations and 39th Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors (24-26 June).
The Forum, co-organized by TaHa Alam Sdn Bhd (“TaHa Alam”), a joint venture company owned by the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), the private sector arm of the IDB Group, and Theta Edge Berhad (a subsidiary of Lembaga Tabung Haji), shared the experience of Lembaga Tabung Haji of Malaysia and showcased the challenges and success stories of Tabung Haji model and its potential for replication to other countries.
The forum aimed at helping pilgrims towards better orientation and mobilization of resources for Hajj by Muslims without borrowing or forgoing their personal belongings to finance their pilgrimage.
TaHa Alam aims to assist pilgrims in counties towards mobilizing Hajj savings scheme and managing its Hajj management company.
The forum was represented by the CEO of ICD , Mr. Khaled Al Aboodi who is also the Chairman on the Board of TaHa Alam, Mr. Mohamad Firdaus Ahmad Yatim from Lembaga Tabung Haji of Malaysia and Mr. Nik Joharris Nik Ahmad, CEO of TaHa Alam.
