Her Majesty Queen Rania Visits the Headquarters of the Islamic Development Bank

Her Majesty Queen Rania Abdullah, spouse of His Majesty King Abdallah II Ibn Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, will visit, for the first time, the headquarters of the Islamic Development Bank on Saturday, 26/4/2008 to acquaint herself with the activities of the IDB Group as well as its efforts to support development plans and programmes in IDB member countries.

The President of the IDB Group, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali expressed his appreciation for the visit and the fruitful cooperation that exists between Jordan and the Group.

Jordan, one of the founding members of the IDB, has an extensive record of remarkable cooperation with the IDB since its establishment in 1975. Todate, IDB’s contribution to development in Jordan is estimated at US$ 1.6 billion. It comprises 64 development projects in various fields like education, health, agriculture, roads and rural development in addition to 91 external trade financing operations as part of the Bank’s effort to increase the volume of trade among member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
