Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Commends IDB and Its Staff
Jeddah, KSA, 30.06.2013 – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has commended the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and its staff and wished them all success.
The King’s message came upon receiving the 38th Annual Report of the Bank which contained the highlights of the activities of the year 2012 from IDB Group’s Chairman, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali. When transmitting the report, the IDB Group Chairman had expressed the gratitude of the Group to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his government and the people for the continued support and patronage.
The IDB Group’s total development approvals for the year 2012 reached US$ 9.8 billion equivalent to SR 36.9 billion which included financing of 386 development projects in member countries as well as 39 operations in 22 Muslim communities in non-member countries. According to the Report, the cumulative approvals by the IDB Group since establishment reached US$ 87.2 billion equivalent to nearly SR 327 billion.
